BolognaFiere: New Pavilion!
2018-12-28

The construction of new pavilion in BolognaFiere centre was started in November 2017, ended in record 10 months only and came into service immediately. The project was created by Studio Di Gregorio Associati with the architectural conception of Massimo Majowiecki and the scientific advice of Prof. Aurelio Galfetti.

The new, ambitious pavilion renovation project, carried out in accordance with the highest building standards, is characterized by a roof covering 72 meters of light without the support of pillars, a building height of about 12 meters, a total area of 33,000 square meters. These new structures are equipped with the state-of-the-art technical equipment and stand side by side. They can also serve as a monolithic architecture for operation.

In fact, the new pavilions allow maximum installation flexibility and – thanks to their height – allow the use of multi-storey stands. The structure is designed to expand and highlight the contents of the exhibition. The use of broad, translucent surfaces ensures coordinated, soft and natural daylighting.

At the core of the project is the commercial strip, an axis that crosses the exhibition complex from north to south, creating flows on various levels and linking the internal mobility system for both service elements and visitors. The routes become porticoed urban spaces that integrate all the functions annexed to trade fairs, thanks to a modular mesh designed to be modular and repeatable, a lightweight and multi-functional structure.
